About Geelong West Kindergarten

Geelong West Kindergarten is an independent kindergarten managed by a Committee of Management.

Our Centre has a long history, dedicated and passionate staff, two beautiful playrooms and a very generous outdoor space.  We operate three 4 year old Kinder groups (4/5 year olds) and three 3 year old kinder groups (3/4 year olds).

At Geelong West Kindergarten we pledge a public commitment to an environment that is safe for all people.  A place to celebrate every individual’s identity, of who they are and what they need.

• maintain the right of every Aboriginal child to be immersed in their culture.
• provide training and development on cultural sensitivity and competency.
• be respectful, inclusive and welcoming of families from a range of backgrounds.
• ask children and families about their culture and cultural support needs.
• recognise occasions which are important to diverse cultures and observe dietary requirements.
• ensure the physical environment reflects a positive and welcoming approach to diverse cultures, through decoration and artwork.
• focus on identifying, preventing and reducing risks of child abuse and harm.
• employ staff that are representative of these values and principles.
